AKC Registered
A fluffy French Bulldog can be AKC registered if both parents are AKC registered, but it will not meet the AKC’s breed standard, which requires a short, smooth coat. While it can still be registered as a purebred French Bulldog, it would not be eligible for conformation shows where breed standards are judged.
Many owners opt for AKC Limited Registration, meaning the dog can still compete in AKC performance events like agility, obedience, and rally but cannot be bred under AKC rules. Some breeders also choose to register fluffy French Bulldogs under the AKC’s Purebred Alternative Listing (PAL) if they were not eligible for full registration. Despite not meeting traditional standards, fluffy Frenchies are still 100% French Bulldogs, just with a rare long-haired gene (L4).

Health Testing
A veterinary health check-up for your puppy ensures they are growing strong and free from underlying issues. It includes a physical exam, vaccinations, and parasite prevention to protect against common illnesses. The vet will also check the heart, lungs, hips, and joints for any abnormalities, especially in breeds prone to genetic conditions. Regular vet visits and early health screenings help ensure your puppy stays healthy, happy, and well-cared for throughout their life.
